Preparing Our Home for a Baby and Christmas!

Indeed, I am finally exploring the world of blogging.  I thought it might be a nice way for our family and friends who are not nearby to keep up on life here in the Stam home.  Please be patient as I experiment with this blogging business!  It's all new to me!

We have been busy the past few months getting our home ready for our first baby.  We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our little blessing any day...although our original due date is December 13.

This summer we spent time combing Craigslist for items for our nursery.  Daddy Caleb did a marvelous job picking out all the farm bedding and accessories.  We wanted to keep things pretty neutral, as we do not know if we will be having a boy or a girl, and we will likely keep the nursery the same for any following babies. :)  The nursery is ready.

I have been busy "nesting" the past month or so...and I think Caleb is ready for that to be done!  I have had such a long to-do list...things that I am CERTAIN must be done before baby.  We have made great progress, and I am at a point where I think I could be not panicking if we headed to the hospital at any given time.

One of the VERY important things on my list was getting our home ready for Christmas.  I knew that I wouldn't have the time or energy to do much at the end of the pregnancy or after baby arrives, so I have been frantically trying to get everything done ahead of time. I can say I am very relieved that the tree is up, as are the other little Christmas touches around the house, and the shopping is done.  I have always dreamed of curling up by the lights of the Christmas tree with my husband and children...and suddenly...it seems as though in just a few short weeks (days???) :) my dream will be realized!  I am so anxious to be home with our baby during this season.  God's timing is so beautiful...even if it wasn't MY timing!! :)

So, here are a few glimpses into the Stam Fam's home.

I hope to keep ya'll updated on Little Thumper once he/she arrives.  Hopefully this will be a good way for those of you far from us to stay updated on life here in rural Oskaloosa!

Thanks for all your prayers and support!

The Stam Fam is ready for Christmas!
